Ensuring that a Sydney Strata Building Follows the Fire Safety Codes

A strata management team will be tasked to look over the entire building and audit the various fire safety items that pass standards or require extensive work to bring up to code. In his analysis at Q1, Assey revealed that the rubbish room on his floor also contained the access to the fire stairwell; a lack of stair pressurisation would have sent smoke from burning rubbish up the shaft. The stairwell covered the escape routes from the 76th floor all the way down to the ground floor. Fire safety compliance in the context of strata management in Sydney has a lot of ground to cover. Compliance evaluators will have to test the readiness of various systems such as the emergency sprinklers, hose reels, water mains, backup lights, and smoke detector/alarms, among others. NSW Department of Planning regulations, in particular, warrant the installation of smoke alarms at all floors for adequate coverage.
